Ka Ora Ka Ako - School Lunches Programmes
Nga Iwi School is part of the Ministry of Education's Ka Ora Ka Ako - school lunches programme. Every student is provided with lunch everyday through the programme. Our lunch suppliers FED have been MoE vetted and adhere to strict Ministry of Health guidelines to promote healthy lunches to our tamariki.
Our students enjoy are range of lunches from sandwhiches, filled rolls and coissants to hot lunches such as fried rice and shephards pie. We have had a very positive response from students and whanau and are very happy that this programme means whanau have a vew extra dollars in the pockets each week.
We encourage all tamariki to participate in the programme, if parents wish to provide lunch for their child, we ask that they please talk with Mrs Fepuleai first. Any prepared lunches must be homemade (nothing processed or store bought) and follow our school lunch and healthy eating policy.
